Policosanol is a mixture of high-molecular-weight aliphatic primary alcohols isolated from natural waxes. It contains Docosanol(C22), Tricosanol(C23), Tetracosanol(C24), Pentacosanol(C25), Hexacosanol(C26), Heptacosanol(C27), Octacosanol(C28), Nonacosanol(C29), Triacontanol(C30), Untriacontanol(C31) and Dotriacotanol(C32). Octacosanol is a high-molecular-weight aliphatic primary alcohol contain 28 carbonyl bonds.
